Mini-Course: Preparing for School-Entry

1 - Gathering Information for School-Entry

Gather information from yourself

As a parent, you know a great deal about your child's unique strengths and challenges. During your child's school experience, you may be asked to speak about these in the context of your child's educational goals and needs in the classroom.

Early in the school-entry process, you should organize your thoughts so you can speak about your child's needs clearly and firmly to school personnel.

On the next page, we provide questions to prompt you. Consider discussing each question with other members of your family. Write down your answers for future reflection.
