Speech and language challenges: Articulation

Children with cochlear implants may have difficulty articulating certain phonemes, making speech unclear.

High-frequency, low-intensity vocalizations, such as S, F, and TH, are especially hard to distinguish between and therefore may lead to articulation errors.

Practice difficult phonemes with the child throughout the year and record your progress.
