A student with a cochlear implant entering a mainstream classroom for the first time may feel unsure of himself or herself, or may be concerned with how others in the class will respond to the cochlear implant. A few simple strategies can go a long way in building confidence in a student with a cochlear implant and encouraging peer acceptance.
