Mini-Course: After School-Entry

9 - Review the Progress of Your Student with a Cochlear Implant

Develop a preliminary strategy

In previous mini-courses, specifically Teaching a child with a cochlear implant and Hearing and language challenges facing children with cochlear implants in mainstream classrooms, we suggest strategies for overcoming challenges that students with cochlear implants may face in the classroom.

The first thing you should do when you notice a student with a cochlear implant (or any student in your class) struggling is to develop a preliminary strategy.

Although some strategies may deliver results immediately, many will require fine-tuning and adjustment over time to produce maximum outcomes.
