Information to obtain
Obtain the following information from the school:- What is the school's experience working with children with cochlear implants? Has the school previously enrolled a child with a cochlear implant?
- Who are the personnel that you will work with regularly? What is their contact information?
- What is the process for scheduling and conducting meetings (for
example, meetings to discuss an Individualized Education Plan (IEP),
which helps document and implement your child's specific
accommodations)?
- With whom will you meet to discuss your child's entry into school?
- With whom will you meet to discuss your child's progress throughout the year?
- What is your role in the meetings?
- What other information does the school need from you to plan for your child's entry?
