6 - Review Your Child's Progress

Preparing for an observation

Always ask the teacher to propose a good time to visit, and consider offering to conduct an activity with the class, read a book aloud, or observe from the hallway or back of the classroom while you are there.

Remember to:

• Accommodate the teacher's schedule as much as possible when scheduling a visit to the classroom.
• Take a notebook to record your observations, and discuss them privately with the teacher as soon as possible.
